With an environment steeped in 32 different cultures, L.I.N.K.S. High School in the English Montreal School Board stands out. Multiculturalism now shouts out from a floor-to-ceiling mural depicting the island of Montreal bordered by 32 flags representing the cultures of the school’s students and staff. Working on the mural was a self-learning and teamwork experience.

·Learn and Earn: Pizza for Chatting with Mentors
Through the LBPSB’s Family and School Support and Treatment Team (FSSTT), Beurling Academy brings career mentors from the local community and high school boys together over lunch hour to chat about real-life careers. Students earn their pizza lunch by showing that they have taken notes from conversations with at least three mentors.

At Chateauguay Valley Regional High School, a dozen Cycle Two students are gaining exactly that experience. In partnership with Desjardins’ Caisse du Haut-St-Laurent, they are operating an in-school student “caisse.”
