The 2016-2017 school year marks the first year of gradual implementation of the Academic and Career Guidance Content (ACGC) in Elementary Cycle Three and Secondary Cycles One and Two. The ACGC is a continuum of 49 content items for students from Grade 5 to Sec. V. In May, Assistant Deputy Minister of Education Yves Sylvain held a webinar outlining the gradual implementation project across the province. In June, school boards named a multidisciplinary team, whose task will be to support the implementation process in participating schools.
Each school board designated one or two schools to implement the content in all classes at one grade level. Training sessions for the school board multidisciplinary teams will take place in October, with school boards in the east of the province attending in Québec City on October 5th, and those from the western part of the province in Montréal on October 13th.
The GOAL Network is ready for ACGC implementation! The group has spent a great deal of time identifying content-relevant activities and projects. We are also developing new activities that will support the school teams implementing the ACGC. Your GOAL Network representatives are here to help!
Watch this spot for more in the coming weeks and months. Have a wonderful year!
