September held a unique surprise for students returning to seven schools of the English Montreal School Board (EMSB). Travis Hall, Career Development Consultant at EMSB, reports that after installation and a successful series of workshops last year, the beehives set up in the spring were now stacked high with boxes filled with frames of honey.

·Perseverance Pays off for GrEau at Mecatina School
Congratulations to the Mecatina School students, teachers, and the village of La Tabatière in the Littoral School Board for persevering with their goal to win the OSEntreprendre contest. The student project, GrEau, which is a hydroponic green vegetable growing operation, was a 2016 grand prize winner in OSEntreprendre.
Financial Literacy Boosts “Out of FOCUS”
The inauguration of the FOCUS students’ T-shirt printing project at Lindsay Place High School (LPHS) received a boost from an in-house brainstorming session with Brian Smith of the Canadian Federation for Economic Education (CFEE) which runs the financial literacy program: “Talk With Our Kids About Money.”
